polymer clay necklace
Learn how to craft beautiful polymer clay jewellery the easy way! This new, revolutionary product has the designs already in the clay! Simply cut, bake and assemble!
Step 1 |
Ensure your work area is clean, dry, and free of dust. Roll out the clay slab to a thickness of 3mm using a roller. Roll horizontally and vertically to preserve the design. Utilize thickness guides for accuracy. |
Step 2 |
Lightly dust the clay with cornstarch to prevent sticking. |
Step 3 |
Place the cutter on the clay and press to cut out the desired shape. |
Step 4 |
Poke a hole on the top of the shape using a clay awl or any pointed tool. |
Step 5 |
Preheat the oven to 250°F [120°C]. Place the clay piece carefully on an oven-safe baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 15-20 minutes. |
Step 6 |
Remove the clay piece from the oven and allow it to cool completely before handling. |
Step 7 |
To create the bead connectors, slide a bead through the eye pin. Bend the eye pin at a 90-degree angle and cut it, leaving a 0.25" [0.635 cm] tail. Make a simple loop using round pliers. |
Step 8 |
Repeat Step 7 to create eight bead connectors. |
Step 9 |
Cut three small pieces measuring 2" [5.08 cm] and two pieces measuring 11" [27.94 cm] of the chain necklace. |
Step 10 |
Attach two bead connectors by opening and closing the loops using flat pliers. Repeat this step until you have created four bead connectors with two beads. |
Step 11 |
Attach all chains to the bead connectors by opening and closing the loops using flat pliers. |
Step 12 |
Attach the arch pendant to the middle chain using a 7mm jump ring. |
