Step 1 |
Ensure your work area is clean, dry and free of dust. |
Step 2 |
Choose three shades of clay to make three snakes. Roll out each one to the desired thickness using a roller. |
Step 3 |
Cut the snake pieces into 1.5" [3.81 cm] long segments. |
Step 4 |
Attach each segment and then roll them together to the desired thickness. |
Step 5 |
Lightly dust the clay with corn starch to prevent it from sticking. Place a half-circle cutter on the slab and press down to cut out half-circle shapes. |
Step 6 |
Poke a hole on each edge corner of the half circles using a clay awl tool. |
Step 7 |
Preheat the oven to 250°F [120°C] and allow the oven to come to temperature. |
Step 8 |
Place the clay pieces carefully on an oven-safe baking sheet lined with parchment paper, then put them into the oven for 15-20 minutes. |
Step 9 |
Once baked, remove the clay pieces from the oven and allow them to cool completely before handling. |
Step 10 |
Attach the half-circle shape to the half-metal finding using 9mm jump rings; then, attach this circle to an earring wire using another 9mm jump ring. |
