Step 1 |
Ensure your work area is clean, dry and free of dust. |
Step 2 |
Roll out the clay slab to the desired thickness using a roller. Alternate between rolling horizontally and vertically to preserve the design. |
Step 3 |
Lightly dust the clay with corn starch to prevent it from sticking. Place a small teardrop cutter on the slab and press down to cut out teardrop shapes. Then, place a flower cutter on the slab and press down to cut out flower shapes. |
Step 4 |
Poke a hole on the top edge of each flower shape and on the corner edge of each teardrop shape using an awl tool. |
Step 5 |
Preheat the oven to 250°F [120°C] and allow the oven to come to temperature. |
Step 6 |
Place the clay pieces carefully on an oven-safe baking sheet lined with parchment paper, then put them into the oven for 15-20 minutes. |
Step 7 |
Once baked, remove the clay slab pieces from the oven and allow them to cool completely before handling. |
Step 8 |
Attach the flower and teardrop shapes using three 7mm jump rings. Open and close the jump rings using flat pliers to secure the shapes together. |
Step 9 |
Place a drop of glue on the back of each teardrop shape and place the flat pad earring finding onto the glue. |
