polymer clay phone lanyard
Learn how to craft beautiful polymer clay jewelry the easy way! This new, revolutionary product has the designs already in the clay! Simply cut, bake and assemble!
Step 1 |
Ensure your work area is clean, dry, and free of dust. |
Step 2 |
To create a bead, take a small portion of the clay slab and shape it into a 10mm circle using a blade. Remove the excess clay and roughly shape it into a ball with your fingers. |
Step 3 |
Place the clay ball into the corresponding 10mm track of the bead maker, ensuring the tracks line up. Close the bead maker and gently move the top and bottom parts in opposite directions 4-5 times. |
Step 4 |
Poke a hole through the bead while it's still in the bead maker. |
Step 5 |
Repeat Steps 2-4 to create a total of seven beads. |
Step 6 |
Preheat the oven to 250°F [120°C]. Place the clay pieces carefully on an oven-safe baking sheet lined with parchment paper; then put them into the oven for 15-20 minutes. |
Step 7 |
Once baked, remove the clay pieces from the oven and allow them to cool completely before handling. |
Step 8 |
Cut a 5" [12.7 cm] long Silver wire. Slide each bead onto the wire, then bend the ends to a 90° angle and cut, leaving a ¼" [0.6 cm] tail. Make a simple loop at each end using round pliers. |
Step 9 |
Attach a split ring to one end of the bead connectors using a 9mm jump ring. Open and close the jump ring using flat pliers to secure the split ring in place. |
Step 10 |
Cut a 28" [71.1 cm] long black cord and make a simple knot. Attach the black cord to the last bead connector using a 9mm jump ring, opening and closing the jump ring using flat pliers to secure the cord in place. |
